Having been recently gifted a wild kitten who acts like she was raised by rats, I decided it might be helpful to read a book on cat behaviour as a guideline.
I work at a library, so had the chance when shelving books in the 700's, to flick through a few books on the subject of raising kittens.
WELL.
First chapter is on the kitten's first visit to the vet.
Next ten chapters are detailed descriptions on all possible diseases, infections, and vet bills you might suffer. Yay.
Useless, discouraging book.
Anyway... found a better book in the humour section: "The Unadulterated Cat" written by Terry Pratchett and illustrated by Gray Jolliffe.
Finally-! A book that explains cats as they are. Everything in it just made so much sense.
However, I would still like to know why cats start cleaning themselves when embarrassed or just at random in general? I have a theory for the latter - that licking themselves is their equivalent of smoking. They do it because they just don't know what the hell else to do.

Last Post
...Because in the world of blogging, the first post eventually becomes the last that people will ever see.
So reading backwards, let my first and last words be:
